Teaching Math

Teaching math has always been my passion. Most people probably think I am crazy to teach math and to teach it to 6th graders!  However, I LOVE it! Yes, it is challenging times and more hormones develop everyday, but 6th grade is such a fun group. They are building the foundations for who they are, they are intrigued to learn, and want to know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING!

Every teacher needs and loves to be organized. Each teacher has their own way or method of staying organized (even though by November we are all looking forward to Christmas Break to get our teaching lives re-organized).  Last year, I carried a RED notebook around and it worked well, but towards the end of the year it was getting a bit unorganized and I was writing on pages that already had writing on it and it was a disaster. I was forgetting important things and my last few weeks of school was a mess.

This year, I am putting together a binder with common core standards/checklist, transportation sheet, lesson plans, yearly goals, calendar, phone list, homework checklist, etc. and all these papers will be and STAY neatly organized..or at least for the first month stay organized. ;) Since my notebook was RED this past year, I chose to go with a ORANGE/CORAL theme for this year's binder!  I will attach some of my templates and master sheets.  If any of you are interested in putting a master binder together, you are welcome to use the ones I posted.  :) At Target, I found this awesome monthly Calendar that is ORANGE and Chevron AND has is able to go into a binder which makes it even more awesome!! :)
